MPI Napoleon & MPI Snowball
The latest acquisitions of MPI Workboats, MPI Napoleon and MPI Snowball, were constructed at South East Asia Shipyard (SEAS) in Vietnam, which is part of the PIRIOU Group. These two Wind Farm Support Vessels were both launched in November 2013, arrived in Le Havre, France early February 2014, and were delivered to MPI Workboats on 13 February 2014. They service the wind farm industry in the North Sea and Baltic Sea.
These next-generation catamarans for further offshore operations are designed and built to BV Class and capable of working across European projects.
MCA CAT 1 certified, and with Twin MAN 1,100hp engines and water-jet propulsion, the vessels offer excellent manoeuvrability, good performance (24kn) and low fuel consumption (280l/hr). There is sufficient space on the aft and fore deck to carry a 10ft or 16ft container for ROV deployment. Optional forward crane is removable leaving flush decks.
The vessels are ideal further offshore and in 2m+ significant waves.
