Re: STORAGE SHIP IN PORT SAID WITH TWO BOWS
If only all searches could be so easy. Based on the information, the FSO is two Bethlehem Steel tankers, welded together in Japan. The oldest of the tankers was delivered in 1953. A search through Bethlehem Steel's archives may result in the name of the original ships.
Well, one of the hulls was the Gulf Oil Company tanker S/S: LAS PIEDRAS. The other half was the Gulf Oil Company (Afran division) tanker S/S MARGARITA. The former was delivered in 1953 and the latter in 1954. I am guessing the conversion was done in 1979-1980 since that is when the ships were "scrapped".

Re: STORAGE SHIP IN PORT SAID WITH TWO BOWS
It would apperar that one side is the *Las Piedras* launched by Bethlehem at Sparrows Point, MD, on 15 October 1953, hull no. 4514; later *Angel Park* (1968) and broken up (somewhat) at Kaohsiung in 1981. The other side is *Margarita* built at Quincy, MA, by Bethlehem, launched 7 April 1954, hull no. 1643; later *Silver Park* (1967) and broken up (partially) at Pusan, 1979. It gets more complicated, though: *Margarita* received a new forward and midsection in 1965 from Kure Zosensho at Kure, and so did *Las Piedras.* So, actually, neither end was built by Bethlehem, but by Kure Zosensho KK!
