Kjeungskjær is the only octagonal lighthouse in Norway, the lighthouse keeper and his family lived in the tower until 1947. It was automated in 1987. The interior of the tower and the original French optics are still in operation. It shines from 21 July. - 16 May. It is switched off during the midnight sun. |*The lighthouse has sleeping cabins that cannot be rented out as accommodation at the moment (2023) due to inadequate fire protection. But a day trip is probably possible.... |
