The MS "NOORDZEE" is Hakkers’ flagship. The vessel is suitable for lifting, hoisting, piling and dredging. Standard on board is our all-new 180-ton crane, nicknamed The Beast. This crane can grab loads up to 155 tons from any angle, thanks to the new 290 kW Caterpillar engine and 60-metre boom length. The seagoing vessel is diesel-electric powered using two 350 kW V-Pods. A 320 kW steering grid is also mounted at the front. This is advantageous because the generators automatically shut down when little power is required. Furthermore, the vessel is designed to carry the crane independently without a tug or pontoon. The stability of the vessel allows for hoisting and slewing from any direction, unlike a traditional floating sheerleg. Furthermore, the vessel has a special coating to reduce resistance in the fairway.
