"TERNINGEN FYR" Photographed on April 11,2024|The lighthouse is located in Trondheimsleia near the mouth of the Hemnfjord, west of the island of Hemnskjela and about 4 kilometers southwest of the village of Sandstad |Koordinaten: 63°29'38„ N, 09°02'22“ E | Built in 1833, the lighthouse consists of a 12 metre high concrete tower and outbuildings. A foghorn was installed in 1923. The fire was automated in 1991. Today it is looked after by the ‘Terningens Venner’ circle of friends, who also offer overnight accommodation |

Kjeungskjær is the only octagonal lighthouse in Norway, the lighthouse keeper and his family lived in the tower until 1947. It was automated in 1987. The interior of the tower and the original French optics are still in operation. It shines from 21 July. - 16 May. It is switched off during the midnight sun. |*The lighthouse has sleeping cabins that cannot be rented out as accommodation at the moment (2023) due to inadequate fire protection. But a day trip is probably possible.... |

Several buildings are arranged around the cast iron 29 m high tower -> In 1939 the station was equipped with a radio beacon and in 1988 it was automated. The lighthouse was decommissioned in 1993 and has been a listed building since 1999. |
